Mark J. Clark, 64, passed away on Monday Oct. 25, 2021, in Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center with his wife Audrey by his side. They shared 38 years together.
Born in Jamestown, N.Y., he was the son of Dale and the late Ann Clark of Warren, PA. He graduated from Eisenhower High School, class of 1975. He was employed by the Southwestern School District for 23 years until his retirement in 2012.
Mark was an avid chess player and earned the title of Master in 1996. He found great enjoyment teaching chess to children and could be found Saturday mornings at the Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown, N.Y. and after school at Southwestern Schools sharing his knowledge and experience. He may not have been the most boisterous individual, but his kindness and compassion always shined through. He was always content with an upbeat spirit and his ear-to-ear grin would light up a room.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Clark of Ashville, N.Y., daughter Katie (Kenneth) Giroux of Niagara Falls, N.Y., son Andrew (Shelly) Clark of Hamilton, Bermuda, two grandchildren Kenneth and Juliette Giroux both of Niagara Falls, N.Y., three brothers, Brian Clark of Warren, PA, Scott Clark of Warren, PA, and David (Rhonda) Clark of Rome, N.Y.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS-Western & Central New York, P.O. Box 22487 New York, NY 10087-2487) or the Kevin Guest House (782 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY 14203)
