Obituary of Eleanor M. Nelson

Eleanor Mae (Fargo) Nelson, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Falconer NY and Charlotte NC, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved Donald Nelson on November 28, 2021. Born in Jamestown, NY, on January 25, 1933, to Ellsworth Elmer and Mariam (Devine) Fargo, she graduated from Falconer Central High School in Falconer, NY. She married the love of her life, Donald Seigfred Nelson, on April 21, 1951. She was a stay at home mom and housewife until all the children attended school. She then worked for S.M. Flickengers Supply until 1980, when she and Don relocated to Charlotte NC . She then worked for Belk Brothers until her retirement in 1997. During her retirement she enjoyed numerous trips, and cruises with her daughters. She loved to travel, especially to visit her sons in Falconer. She loved to ride the rails and made several train trips to visit extended family and friends across the USA. In 2013 she moved to Conroe, TX, to reside with her daughter and son-in law, and was surrounded with the love and laughter of grandchildren, great grandchildren and even two great-great grandsons! She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Donald (Sept 22, 1995), brothers; Harry, Ralph, Robert, Herbert, and Harold; sister, Gladys, and a special niece, Linda Beightol . She is survived by her four loving children; Debra (Manfred) Piazza, Conroe, TX, Brian (Kay) Nelson, Falconer, NY, Barbette Dewey, Charlotte, NC and Keith (Glenda) Nelson, Falconer NY, nine grandchildren; Heather (James), Tammie, Jennifer (Chris), Brian, MJ (Destiny), Eric (Elizabeth), Amada (Nick), Logan (Jamie) and Daniel (Nicole); sixteen great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren . Per her wishes, her body was donated to medical science. A memorial will be held on her birthday, Jan 25, 2022 at the Riverpoint Baptist Church in Conroe, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Riverpoint Baptist Church, PO Box 1425, Conroe, Texas 77305, or Oasis Hospice, 12051 Sleepy Hollow Road, Conroe, Texas, 77385. Eleanor never met a stranger. and will always be remembered for her smiles and infectious laughter!! She will be missed, but will remain in our hearts through her memories and stories. To be absent from the body is to present with the LORD 2 Corinthians 5:8.
