Jamie Richir

Obituary of Jamie L. Richir

On February 24, 2022 Jamie Richir got to hear “well done, good and faithful servant” from her Lord and Savior. Her smile, laughter, and love of Jesus were contagious. Jamie made friends wherever she went and those in her presence always felt so loved. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith and strength. She was a prayer warrior and glorified God at every opportunity. In her war with cancer, she met every obstacle with faith and prayer, surviving her first battle to write a book giving God the glory. She will be remembered for so many things including her joy, hospitality, creativity and beautiful singing voice. Jamie is survived by her daughter Marcella (Michael) Centi and granddaughter sweet Zoie Centi as well as her mother, Jacklyn Hopkins, and siblings Janet (Ray) Powell, Steven (Jill) Hopkins and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Richir-her high school sweetheart (even heaven and earth could only keep them apart for a week). She is also preceded by her father James Hopkins. While our hearts are broken by the loss of her earthly presence, we know how blessed we are to have gotten to do life with her and are comforted in the knowledge that we’ll get to see her again in heaven. Visitation will not be observed. Family and friends will gather for a picnic this summer at Jamie’s home, to celebrate her beautiful life. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Hospital 665 Elm St., Buffalo, NY 14203.
