Obituary of Louise M. Doverspike

Louise M. Doverspike, 63, of Jamestown passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (March 8, 2022) in her home. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was born December 6, 1958 in Jamestown, the daughter of Lewis and Betty Wilt Blood. Louise attended Randolph High School and was currently a student at Jamestown Community College. She believed strongly in continuing to educate herself, and was always enrolled in some sort of college class. She also tried to help educate her family. She’d send the kids books about anatomy, teach them new words in French, and was always concerned with how they were doing in school. In earlier years Louise was a self-employed daycare provider and Girl Scout Leader. She was currently employed at the Connection in Jamestown. She had plans to open a daycare again someday, and also had started her own cleaning service, “Flop-N-Bop”. Louise loved her family deeply. She never missed anyone’s birthday, and always sent the best birthday “cards”. She stayed in constant contact with all of her children and grandchildren, and was always concerned for everyone’s safety. She always warned of the dangers of drinking and driving, taking rides from strangers, and crossing the street. Louise had a passion for physical fitness. Whenever we would go over for dinner, she would teach the kids about weightlifting and boxing, often sparring with them, and showing them different techniques for self-defense. She was a member of the YMCA of Jamestown, and worked out on a regular basis. She was certified by the International Sports Science Association as an Elite Trainer and Youth, Senior and Lifespan Coach. Louise was very artistic, and had a passion for writing, drawing, and painting. Every letter or card she sent to her family had some sort of interesting drawing or saying written in it. Her oldest daughter Misty was extremely artistic as well, and after her passing Louise collected all of her artwork and writings, and had dreams of one day having them published for the world to enjoy. Louise enjoyed nature and the outdoors. In her younger years, she enjoyed hunting, and was an avid fisherwoman. Surviving are two children: Richard J. (Erika) Doverspike Jr. of Jamestown, Crystal Brook (Aaron) Peelman of Randolph; two step sons: Shawn Hughes and Michael (Patricia) Hughes; seven grandchildren: Harmony Dillingham, Braydon Meacham, Brittany Hughes, Saniah Hughes, Caleb Peelman, Mason Peelman, Gwendolyn Doverspike; her parents: Lewis and Betty Blood of Randolph and a sister Yvonne (Steven) Carr of Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by a son Jason Blood and a daughter Misty Dawn Dillingham. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be donated to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701 or to the Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc., 301 E 2nd St. Suite 101 Jamestown, NY 14701.
