Obituary of Aaron Thomas Raimondo

Aaron Thomas Raimondo, 33, was born on February 13th, 1989 in Jamestown, NY at WCA Hospital, and passed away on March 31st, 2022 in Buffalo, NY at ECMC Hospital, after a brave battle with illness. Though Aaron had many physical and intellectual disabilities and illnesses throughout his life, they did not keep him from being a happy and brave boy, and later young man. Aaron was beloved by everyone who knew him. He was always happy and smiling, and loved to play pranks on those around him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and caretakers, listening to music, playing with animals, watching the Bills, and participating in the Special Olympics. Aaron attended the former Resource Center school in Ashville, the former Rogers Elementary School in Jamestown, Jefferson Middle School in Jamestown, the Hewes Center (Ashville BOCES), Silver Creek High School, and the LoGuidice Center (Fredonia BOCES). After he graduated from high school he enjoyed attending the Resource Center’s Day Habilitation Program in Dunkirk, NY. His family would like to thank everyone who cared for, worked with, or helped Aaron during his life, especially the wonderful and caring staff at the state group homes he lived in during the last half of his life in Fredonia, Silver Creek, and Hamburg, and the 6th floor nursing staff at ECMC. Aaron was preceded in death by his brother, Julian Cunningham, his aunt Cheri Raimondo, his maternal great-grandparents Arlene (Calkins) and Paul (Gloria) Nieder, his maternal great-grandparents Luise and Karl Höeflich, his paternal grandparents Margaret (Mihalko) and Thomas “Butch” Raimondo, and his maternal grandparents Gerlinde (Höeflich) and Thad Schank.
